My First Blog/ Introduction

My name is Zhekun Miao. I am 21 years old. This is my third year in Troy. I come from Shanghai, China. Shanghai is the largest city in China and eighth largest in the world, with a recorded population of 23 million (as of 2013) plus a huge unregistered temporary floating populace, Shanghai is located on the Yangtze River Delta by the East China Sea and is the busiest container seaport in the world.

My major is Accounting. Accounting is really a difficult major and you have to deal with Numbers every day. It’s might be boring to some as it deals with numbers. However, I like accounting as I grew up interacting with money and numbers. I hope to become a professional accountant to support the family business.

My hobby is to eat delicious food and I often describe myself as foodie. Chinese food is considered to be one of the most complex and diverse cuisines in the world by chefs, food critics, and travelers. Each cuisine has different flavor profiles, hallmark ingredients, and cooking methods. Sweet and sour is a common taste in Shanghainese cuisine, while Szechuan food is known for its extensive use of the numbing peppercorn of the same name.

To not become to unhealthy for eating a lot, I developed a habit of exercise and playing sports. I like to play ping pong and badminton. Ping pong and badminton are considered as national sport in China so majority of Chinese people knows how to play them. Although I love those sports, I am not very good at them.

My email is zmiao@troy.edu. I hope everyone has a great semester!
